I'm not made out of money. Can't afford to have the most highly available datacenters. I am, however, continuing to improve pic8's stability.

Is that your site? Good for you man. Ignore the jerks who complain. Does it cost you much running it, I am totally ignorant of the costs involved but am curious as to the cost.
You'd think that a high end consumer grade line would support a couple hundred users, obviously that wouldn't be in their ToS..
I think the most amount of money is likely in sorting out crashes and networking issues. Time is valuable. I pay my internet with about 2 hours of labour, but sorting out server issues all month? Likely costs more.
