I disagree. I block people in my physical life that I don't enjoy being around by simply not spending time with them. Why would my POAL life be any different? After I've seen a person comment for 10th time and realizing that I don't enjoy reading ANY of their comments and I don't enjoy their internet "personality" the only logical step for me to take is to stop spending "time" around them.
On poal the blocking is especially lightweight anyway, because I still see all the posts from blocked accounts, I just have to open them to see them.
I'm discriminating with what I choose to read in the physical world. Why would I not be the same with who I choose to read in the internet world?
Do you have a counterarguement?
Poal isn't your personal life. It's more akin to sitting at your local bar. You don't get to choose who is sitting three stools down and you can hear their stupid. You are the root of cancel culture. You are a faggot.
That person you block may start telling lies about you or a subject you know well. I guess you don't care about correcting lies and misinformation. Good job faggot.
These are not compelling arguments to me in any way.
Choosing to ignore a person is the opposite of cancel culture. I don't care what anyone says. I simply don't want to hear it.
The thought of feeling I have some sort of internal need to spend my time "correcting lies and misinformation" is laughable to me. I'm here to collect knowledge and information. And to occasionally shoot the shit with other posters I like.
I'm here to collect knowledge and information.
Good job not helping others do the same. Let the lies and misinformation stand. Who cares? Right?
You get to chose the bar you go to dumbass. If there are some loudmouth belligerent drunks and the barkeep cannot get them under control you leave.
So Poal is filled loudmouth belligerent drunks? Or it's just one guy at the bar who you'd like to kick out but can't really do. The rest of the bar isn't that so you like the place overall and don't want to leave.
You should at least keep your metaphors and analogies relevant.
Ruqqus is probably more your style. Fake freedom of speech is their thing too.
the new block function is extreme. Do you understand how it works?
I just assumed it would work the same as the earlier version.
Nope. Try replying to me now and you'll see how stupid it is.
Ok. Looks like the new banning is more total than previously thought. I don't prefer it that way. I just want to make people harder to read. Not impossible.
