It seems likely that there used to be highly sophisticated technological societies before the last ice age, and that the earth was reset by a major cataclysm. My guess would be that Antarctica was not always covered in ice, and that underneath this ice there's an archaeological gold mine that few people know about.

Read Fingerprints of the gods by Graham Hancock. His research pretty much confirms this. Especially the old source maps from millenia ago that were way more accurate than we were able to produce during the same time. These ancient civilizations that created these maps had solved the problem of longitude. something we didn't solve until the 18th century. Some source maps also shows Antarctica decently accurately WITHOUT ICE. Some people believe that the entire Earth crust moved and that therefore antarctica was way further north before that and thus free of ice. Read the book. Its really fascinating.
Im a believer in there being advanced civilization 12500 years ago, but not in Antarctica. Even that long ago, with peoples capable of creating high quality masonry structures, Antarctica, wouldn't be a place anyone would risk the dangerous journey to get to, to live there. Think about how hard a time they had at Jamestown, those people had more tech than any advanced civilization would have had 12k years ago, and still failed, in a very habitable place.
Ice, fossils, penguins and interesting bacteria, are all youre gonna find on Antarctica.
Fair enough, but I think travelling to Antarctica would be trivial for cultures that could build structures like the pyramids at Giza. We aren't even capable of that level of precision today, so they were likely much more advanced than we are.
Ive never liked that trope that we cant get those levels of precision. I dont buy it. We just would never attempt doing anything that big and precise out of those materials, for obvious reasons. You want a perfectly oriented pyramid bigger than Giza? Go to Vegas. Its bigger, finished nicer, and has sharper edges. Its was built in less than 1/10th the amount of time with far less material. Itll will last even longer than 3000 years if it remains profitable.
Saw an article the other day saying it was covered in rainforest, but it was 90m years ago. The big meteor hit was 65m yag for context. But if 'they' were so advanced would they not have survived?
With it being millions of years perhaps the dinos there evolved to a point they assended physical form and went to another dimension where they could be immortal or something.
Many would probably survive, and would have to live through a long gradual decline into anarchy and barbarism. Imagine how fucking useless contemporary people would be in a post apocalyptic society. A comet or a solar flare could send us back to the bronze age overnight, and pretty much all of our scientific advances would be forgotten in a generation or two.
I think a civ can be a lot more advanced than we are and still get utterly erased by nature.
