If Trump was just impeached, does that mean he's still President?

As far as I understand it, impeachment is a process to remove an official from office. If Biden is president, wouldn't that mean Trump couldn't be impeached, as he's already out of office? Can anyone clear this up for me? If it wasn't an impeachment, what just happened? A double-reverse opposite-day impeachment? A temper tantrum?

Well... biden didn't really get elected by real votes...

so YES!

Wait, I thought that he was acquitted? I don't oft follow American politics, but that's what jumpt in to my feed.

Slightly confused, now.

"Impeach" is just a formal accusation (think of it like an indictment in a regular court). An official can be impeached, but unless they get convicted then it means nothing.

House of Representatives = Impeaches

Senate = Convicts or acquits after trying the alleged crime someone was impeached for.

And even if the Senate were to acquit the actual sanctions are a separate proceeding. For a sitting President, they would have to decide whether or not to remove him from office. Since Trump is out of office, the worst they can do is bar him from ever holding elected office in the future.

Yes, Donald Trump is still president of the United States of America. He was elected by the vote of the American people. Despite the efforts of the Deep State, the media and the Democrats to cloud his victory, it was massive and certain. Trump is currently in his second term as president, which will not end until early in 2025.

I understand that. I'm just wondering: Is impeaching Trump an admission that Biden's "victory" is illegitimate?

Naw. The Democrats engage in double-think. What is true for their enemies is not true for them. If the Republicans tried to impeach Biden when he was out of office, it would be an admission that Biden was still president; but when the Democrats try to impeach Trump out of office, it's just a just and reasonable punishment for all of Trump's deplorable crimes ... none of which the Democrats can prove, because, hey, there aren't any Trump crimes. See, double-think. 1984 is the Democrat work book.

I hope you write for a living because you're really good at it.

Trump was impeached on January 13th. He was still President at the time. Impeachment by the House and trial by Senate are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.

Thank you. That clears things up.

If trump is president, why is biden being shown doing things as president, signing eo's moving in the white house...?

Why the show? This has never happened before in American history as far as i know.

Do you have sauce?

Probably. Who can tell? Are you even wearing trousers? Cereal box. bug boot.

The impeachment happened on January 13th, while Trump was still in office. Impeach simply means "to accuse." It's essentially the same as an indictment in a regular court (i.e. the prosecution formally stating charges and their intent to hold a trial).

What happened just the other day was the end of the actual trial, where the Senate voted to acquit.

So no super-sekrit Qoomer qonspiracy going on here. They were simply having the trial for the impeachment that happened while he was still President. And since he's out of office, the worst they could do is bar him from ever holding an elected position again, and that's what this is all about. Now that he's out, they don't want him coming back in any capacity.

The Democrats are scared shitless that Trump will run again, because they know he will win AGAIN, and they will have to cheat AGAIN in order to cling to the power they so desperately seem to need. They know the people of America rejected them in this past election. That's why there are thousands of troops in DC.

Dude you've got that all wrong, the troops are in DC because they're afraid that the Trump supporters who've done...nothing, will continue to do...nothing, but it's great show for the sheep. Yes that was sarcasm

no, but it stops him from running for public office
