Poal has probably not come under the Eye of Sauron like Voat had. Give it time -- probably after some white guy goes postal and the video is linked and discussed here. Also, towards the end Voat was mostly down due to Putt just not giving a fuck anymore.

Poal is conspicuously not ever mentioned in the news, leading me to believe we've been under the eye since day one. Think of how much metaphorical ink was used on parler and gab and even voat.

While undoubtedly some are watching, it generally takes some event to be newsworthy, like the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting or the mosque shooting in New Zealand, or the "Insurrection" at the capital building.

Think of how much metaphorical ink was used on parler and gab and even voat.

Poal is even smaller than Voat was, and Voat, after a few DDoS attacks, was mostly left alone. What really killed Voat was Putt disinterest.

I have a theory. Maybe it's crazy, but bear with me. I think that maybe Putt deliberately wrote the code of Voat so that it would crash and freeze randomly for users. He did this as a way of limiting traffic on the site. Why? I don't know. Maybe because it was getting too big for him. Maybe because he was working for the Deep State.

Poal is much further under the radar. Also, putt may not have been the world’s best. Voat was built off a student project, then the entire database ported. And every set of updates was never finished. There are a lot of reasons.

That said, I could say that Voat was far less intensive in the browser. Poal sucks down battery much more quickly, in my anecdotal experience. (Maybe my battery is reaching EOL, but Voat would run on a potato, so I should see how this newfangled site does on my collection of shit.
