My understanding is that Chavez stole an election and then nationalized a bunch of shit. Stuff wasn't that bad at first but after a few years everything started to collapse and many of the best in Venezuela started to flee. It's been ongoing collapse ever since

Voter fraud, globalism, Marxism. Dominion and Smartmatic, the vote counting machines used to do the majority of vote stealing in 2020, were developed in Venezuela and used to keep the communists in power long after they'd lost any semblance of popular support. When the communist government destroyed small businesses and individual rights, the US did nothing, but when they nationalized profitable industries and took their profits away from the globalist bankers, the US sanctioned them. There's disagreement over whether the sanctions or the Marxism did more to collapse their economy but I say it's the Marxism as they could still have a functional domestic economy even with international sanctions (see Nazi Germany's economic miracle).

Basically, Venezuela political structure had two parts - army, controlling drugs flow, and government, controlling all the rest. Chavez made cartel "del Sol" part of the government, thus allowing it to overpower traditional government businesses in a wave of "nationalizations" - but throwing entire system into collapse, internally and internationally.

Chavez was removed, but the system never recover. While poverty is endemic in Venezuela, surviving middle-class attempted to fight back - but was soon ruined by waves of low-class zombies, proved itself incapable of creating a political subject, and eventually flee the country.

Now Venezuela is down to, basically, a feudal level - with military drug lords sponsoring street criminals ("colectivos") who control the hungry crowds for them. These crowds, in the meantime, completely depend on government-provided fodder - making Venezuela one big slum.

What is important to see here, is that this is exactly what globalist "world government" wants to do to the west - exterminate the middle class, and enslave ignorant mass of sheep, hopelessly in debt, into a primitive feudal governing structure.

Reason for that being, that hierarchical control of a more complex society and economics resulted to be too much for globalists to handle - hence they opted for simplification. Hence covid.
