On some posts, there is a blue line on the left. In some threads, some comments are surrounded by blue. I thought it might have meant posts that never loaded for the user previously, but that is not the case. What the fuck is the blue?

I believe it is:

  • Submissions in the post list with blue next to it are 'default' subs - kind of official ones not made by users (green left bar is a sub that you are subscribed to)
  • Comments surrounded by blue within submissions are comments that are new since your last visit to that thread.

Huh, that is what I thought it could be, but it doesn't seem consistent. I will chalk that up to me being drunk.

You're welcome. I agree that the 'new since last viewing' blue outline is inconsistent. I just viewed a thread with no comments and then closed it. I refreshed the submission list and it flashed with 1 new comment so I went into it again and the 1 new comment did not have a blue outline.

That could be because it was the first comment made to the thread and there might be a bug there where it doesn't apply to the first comment in a thread for some reason and only additional new comments.
