“It's our position that everyone may use their freedom of speech for any purpose except to limit others' freedom of speech.”

How does this square with someone commenting then blocking replys?

Is the right of reply not part of free speech?

It is not about forcing anyone to listen, it is about allowing people to listen should they want to.

You can edit your comments to expand your argument. You can link to a comment with a new post and continue whatever it is you want other people to have the chance to see. Post screenshots (saw this just a little while ago, in fact). You can reply to your own comment instead of theirs.

If you can get around the block why interrupt the thread in the first place.

If you decide you don’t want to see a particular user’s comments you should be able to block them for yourself, not for everybody else.
