They are fundamentally the same. They hypnotize weak minded people with promises of "universal good" without ever delivering a viable plan for delivery of those goods. But once the sheep are hypnotized they no longer care that there is no plan, they will follow orders without question. That is why no two socialists will give you the same answer to very basic, pragmatic questions like "how". How does a factory of thousands function when everyone's opinion has to have equal weight even though most of them are morons. No two socialists can answer that question the same. That is not true for Capitalism. So what exactly are the socialists agreeing to? Noting more than platitudes like "the workers should own the products of their work". With these ultimately meaningless platitudes they are herded like cattle to push for a system that will never work how they imagine because no two even imagine the same system. Instead the result can only be a totalitarian structure where a tiny minority of people control everything. That is the only possible final result. That is why every single "socialst" society ended up like that. It is inevitable. What is also inevitable is that once those people have the power of tyrants afforded under socialism they will capture the remaining power and simply take they next step into communism. Socialism promises equality by sacrificing all control of business to the elites. But equality is never achieved. So with that same exact lie they will simply claim that equality will be brought with the sacrifice of control over every other aspect of life. That is why socialism is just communism lite. It is just a stepping stone to communism. They make the exact same promise except socialism claims it will give equality in exchange for business control and communism requires business control and property control. It's literally the same shit.
