My wife's brother was running his mouth about some "poundmetoo" and "untested rape kits".

I just asked how many of those kits were untested because the prosecution already had a confession from the perpetrator.

Fuckers face almost fell off. Ruined a perfectly good vacation with that question.

Never thought to ask this question myself. Thanks for sharing

For him or for you? If it was for him, good. If it was ruined for you, don't let that happen. You didn't do anything wrong, you asked a reasonable question. The fact that your faggot brother-in-law can't hanlde his emotions is his problem.

I've let my enjoyable times get ruined in the past over similar things; realized it's pointless to get myself upset over someone reacting poorly to my asking a reasonable question or even just saying something I believe to be true.

Oh, I still had a fine vacation. I caught a ton of sideways glances from the whole fucking family, but I was high at the beach, so fuck it.

Oh, and no problem. I think everyone should ask as many questions as possible. And legitimately listen to the answer if they choose not to yell at you instead.

Questions are almost always safer than statements when discussing "sensitive" topics. More often than not, the other person will be more open because they feel like they have an obligation to teach you something. That's why you should actually listen. They're telling you what they actually believe.
