certainly not for a constitutional republic. maybe if youre a tyrant trying to subjugate a population, or a mafia boss trying to avoid dirty jobs.
How is that supposed to subjugate a population? I don't follow the reasoning here, the gov is by definition unable to do anything for lack of funds, how is it going to subjugate an entire population if it can't even budget a taxi ride?
the current tax system subjugates the population in multiple ways. Tax inflation devalues labor. Tax law creates criminals and stifles enterprise and creativity. And the govt can do a lot without taxes. It can raise funds in other ways (donations, enterprise, mandate, etc) but could also rely more on volunteerism, forced labor, dogma, or a number of other methods of getting things done. It currently will finance entire wars without the tax budget to back it up.
What can the gov do without tax revenues that it can't do with tax revenues? :/
No tax revenues would deliver an additional 4 trillion sized budget hole every year
I highly doubt that donations, corporate or otherwise, would be enough to fill that gap. I think so called donors would be the first in line to flee the country actually
