It will kinda depend on the branch you want, the MOS (job) you want, and ASVAB scores (assuming they still do ASVAB) in today's highspeed military.. it's all feelings-friendly now.
The National Guard - as we fulltimers called the Nasty Girls - I wouldn't worry too much about physical fitness especially since there has been a PT hiatus until 2022, I think it was:
Noting not all NG are this undisciplined, some units are highspeed and some further still have seen more action than full-timers; again depends on the job and the branch. That said, I would agree with most here, don't bother. It has changed so much (for the worse), since Obummers run.
The MOS isnt hard, and ive been getting mixed reviews from mil recruiters about what to do. However, the jobs i was looking at are in green zones, and not on the field.
if by green zones, you're referring to like check points, or some type of area control, that could be seen as field work - chances are this would be for an MOS 31A for Army - Security Forces for AF - not sure of the job codes for other branches.
Your PT for that MOS wouldn't be too taxing in basic I wouldn't think, and probably wouldn't be any worse in AIT. I know the APFT has changed dramatically per job, but I wouldn't consider it taxing. I would be confident in saying that you'd more than likely have an issue with 11X (11 series is light infantry X is a placeholder for specific job) over any other MOS with asthma.
