I definitely started on a downhill slide and pulled myself out. Honestly just a slow taper down over a few years. I still drink but not like I was. Maybe a drink or 2 on weeknights now and I'll cut loose on the weekend now and again but I go plenty of nights where I don't drink at all.
it's necessary to maintain a routine because physics matters... even if you're crazy... getting pissed twice a week is the absolute limit.
I work hard during the day. I feel I'm entitled to a beer or a drink at the end of the day. But yeah I was getting housed like every night. I think I was going through a bottle of whiskey like every 3 days at my worst. I know that's not shit compared to some people but it was bad enough my friend and wife both told me I needed to cut back.
