I quit September 30, 2019. 2 weeks in a treatment center and 2 weeks in PHP. I was doing AA everyday before the pandemic. I learned to meditate and that helped a lot. I would do it 3 times a day, 30 minutes at a time. As for treatment, it was nice to not have a phone for a month. The shut the meeting down last year, but we just started doing Zoom meetings. I made it through 2020, but I did smoke a lot of weed. Got my card now, so it makes it easier (FL). Find friends who don’t drink and plan stuff to do, get a hobby, and most important, prayer. Find your spiritual center. It doesn’t matter if you were raised religious (I was Catholic, parents divorced when i was 8, new wife was Southern Baptist). That’s what worked for me. Get to an AA meeting, and just listen. Go often. Find a sponsor. I know it is what everyone says, so it must work. You can download the Big Book app. There are many of them, but some have recording of speaker meetings. Listen to them. Eventually, you hear parts of your own story and hear how they did it. Pick up the phone instead of a drink and talk to someone about what’s causing you to want a drink. Good luck, friend. It is worth it. Life is still a shit sandwich, but when you’re sober, it’s less shit filling and more bread.
if i didn't need my cardio as much as i do i'd be smoking a couple of joints every day without fail.
i know what i have to do... i've just burnt out all my rubber (metaphorically)... life is a cunt. So be it.
What's up with your cardio?
I don't think it's the weed brother. I'll take a bongrip and go pound out 2 hours of cardio, then another and an hour of heavy lifting.
When I was doing a bike challenge, 1000 km in about 18-19 days, weed was extremely effective keeping me positive and ignoring the pain. Obviously mental toughness would be better... but it helped me.
One word. Edibles. Gummy bears, chocolate & peanut butter bars, etc.
so now you're a fat as fuck jew?
