many use the New feature to look thru what hasnt been seen before. when upvoted it commends the user and bumps up the post but the sliding up doesnt offer much benifit to the user.

with downvotes poals content is pruned or effectively curated unlike what the upvote can do.

this remind me of the human brain and youtube. both achieve greater success when a filter or selectivity is employed. i also block users from time to time when they are found to incite issues.

and also, do any of you tell people in public about poal?

goodday

Maybe a limit of a few downvoats per day to discourage abuse

Or if you downvoat you must give a reason in the comment box, i.e. 'massive faggotry'...'suspected jew bastid', etc.

and if the site was flooded with downvoates then the character of the users is clearly seen. whereas with upvoats people can get away with more farming and sliding easier/less'detection'

This. I liked the downvote, as I could save time by skipping topics I may not have been interested in, by noting the ratio of downvotes to upvotes. 15 upvotes doesn't mean it's a popular/well-written post, if there's 20 downvotes. But when in Rome............... I'm grateful for Poal for letting us in.

I find Poalsters don't use the upvote to the degree that Voatsters did.

there hasnt been much abuse of the downvoat. it is the upvoat that has been misused faar more.
