I went full carnivore 2 years ago. No carbs whatsoever. I don’t miss and easily turn down sugar. My biggest issues are not enough salt, potassium and magnesium. I take them as supplements and add salt to everything which is hard after a lifetime of thinking salt equals bad. I follow a rule now, if salt tastes good I need more salt, if it tastes bad I’ve had enough. It has worked so far. Oh, and floss, floss a lot. Meat gets stuck in your teeth. One more thing, lift weights every day. I lost 65 pounds doing this.
Supplementing with vitamins can really make a big difference. I take magnesium and I find it to be very beneficial for a lot of reasons. I still consume a fair amount of sugar and love carbs. My body does very well on a high carb diet. I work out a lot and need a lot of fuel though.
I call my magnesium supplements “dream tamers” I discovered that when I take my magnesium supplements just before bedtime my dreams are milder and more pleasant. 250 to 400 mg seems to have the effect. More than that causes a not so comfortable bowel issue.
