I'm in the market for a residential safe, never owned a safe before. I've been reading that everything at costco/home depot is garbage. I somewhat understand the categories, a TL15 or RSC is what I'm looking for. If anyone can educate me about specific brands to avoid I would greatly appreciate it, information is limited online. Hide the safe as much as you can, don't share the location with anyone (my daughter has never seen the safe in our house that has been here for many years). Also have a fake book full of cash and a hidden loaded pistol hidden nearby in a logical spot (for you). In the event your security system is breached and you are caught flatfooted in a home invasion, lead them to your cash stash and as they grab it, grab your gun out and go down fighting.
