I'm trying to be self employed but I'm a bit late to the game.
I have been for 10 years. Best thing ever.
I don't even know how i'd get a job anymore. Mask? No. Woke social justice shit? Fuck no.
Be fired so quick..
Not necessarily. What are your skill sets? You'd be surprised the types of things people want to outsource to independent contractors these days. I know virtual bookkeepers who are making 6 figures.
Not a lot. Simple IT work. I hated consulting. To many jews.
How do you feel about specializing? Any area of IT that really interests you?
Or anything else out there that you might want to try?
Put some ads up in local papers or anything that old people read. Do simple IT shit for the oldies at $100 an hour.
In that case, if I were you I'd fire you for being late.
It's never too late. Once you taste the freedom in it you can never go back. Start by advertising your skills on line and work for yourself on the side.
