For some reason DMs are broken for me, I think it's my browser. The jist of it is that your tech sector experience will translate to your job better than you think (especially corporate doctrine/methodology stuff, and especially especially for the AF since they use the same exact books) Basic is easier than it's ever been, and as long as you don't lie on your enlistment paperwork or security clearance (likely secret), you're solid. Honestly it's at least as easy of a ride as the civ world. Though you do give up personal freedoms, i.e. your 1st amendment rights in uniform and kinda out of it too due to PC culture. It's a lot more like the fortune 500 techy company civ sector than you might expect. The AF and navy are by far the techiest branches. If you're computery, intel, comm, etc are great to get into, 9-5 office stuff with a little more physical and loyalty obligation than the civilian side. A recruiter will be a good resource for all the legalese ramification of signing on the line type stuff. Basically your ass belongs to them, but they'll pay lip service to maintaining your health/sanity and pay you well.
