What I saw was computers trying to cover their asses on the short by buying up more options at a higher price protecting their positions.
No wealth was generated for GME, only those that shorted their buys.
They don't need wealth when they have cashflow. They can coopt the wealth of the companies they buy with their new found cash flow. Seriously, now is the time for hostile take overs of both xerox and AOL. The new GameXLOL would fill the current hole that needs to be filled with a gaming distribution monopoly. After the markets foresee that as an option, this current perturbation in the stock value will seem small in comparison.
With Xerox IP and engineers to design build the worlds greatest info agnostic gaming platform and AOL's fiber backbone, that new company would be the gaming monopoly we've anticipated to inevitably emerge for a while.
If Gamestop can dump shares onto the market they can create wealth for themselves.
