Then why believe that Georgia's Governor Kemp, who had proven himself to be a spineless sadsack well before that point, needed to have a family tie whacked to prevent him from suddenly doing the right thing? I think everyone knew that Stop the Steal would fail in the sense that it alone would not accomplish anything. It was a show of support (and White unity) to try and show Cuckgress and Pence that they would have the masses behind them if they would do the right thing...and a reminder that the masses would see them for what they are if they did the wrong thing. Theoretically there was no way for the private citizens to stop the steal themselves, even if they had literally occupied the Capitol then the spineless lawmakers would have just relocated to somewhere else and held the vote to seal the steal. All private citizens could do was delay it.
