I'm looking for a new gfx card. I used to use Newegg, but they sold out to China. There's Amazon but fuck Bezos. So who do you use?

Find a local PC repair shop and give them your business. Fuck the big box stores.

Not a bad idea but at the end of the day if they get their stuff from Amazon, then I'm paying a premium to still support those assholes.

amazon doesn't sell wholesale. I had a few k banked and was looking into it. Everything is bought from wholesalers in bulk and the retail prices for everything we see are the markup.

Taxes and overhead make smaller stores markup higher generally for them to pay their bills but they are not getting it from amazon in most cases.

If you can find a website that is more "local" ( someone who doesn't necessarily have store levels of overhead and buys bulk and resends the way amazon does from a garage or warehouse location) you can probably get similar value as newegg.

I would say look on ebay.

Last time I found a good deal that was not a big corporate entity for computer parts was the last time I bought computer parts a decade ago so I don't remember who it was. The local computer store had good deals but they were slightly old sometimes so you had to catch them when they ran out of old supply and got a new bulk order of a new model.

I remember when the answer back in the 90s was "go buy the current issue of Computer Shopper magazine and start looking around". I miss those days.

Computer Shopper

Yeah, those were the days. It had a certain 'feel' to it that I can't put my hands on. Also the computer show and sales were exciting.

I get 3d printer filament and resin there but it is chink stuff.

Thanks but I just tried searching for a RTX 3060 TI and nothing came up. Not even an out of stock.

I used to buy at a local shop, but the shop closed down, so I buy from Amazon. I've also bought from Tiger Direct and New Egg.

used good deals local on whatever your equivalent to kijiji, gumtree, or craigslist is. It sucks but now lots of stuff is on facebook but I find people over charge on facebook mostly( literally only go there for looking for a place to rent myself). Some times a guy will order like a dozen wholesale of something and sell it on ebay and local as new with a decent price but you have to keep an eye on the markets to catch those sore dick deal.

sometimes you can find a used computer that has a specific component that is being sold cheap because it is used and somewhat old. Usually SSD's and ram are the bit thing to get from such units

Tigerdirect.com (I've used with success)

Microcenter.com

Monoprice.com

Thank you for the suggestions but only microcenter has what I'm looking for. (RTX 3060 Ti) And everything they have listed is unavailable online. I know there's a shortage so I'll try back later.

Another suggestion I have is to buy AMD. Nvidia is a shitty company.

[–] 1 pt

AMD supports the blm faggotry.

But I guess nvidia does as well.

I get you but through out the years AMD/ATI has always had shitty drivers. Maybe that's changed but I had a friend who bought an AMD card (like 2 yrs after they bought ATI) and the drivers were still shit. So I still buy NVIDIA (even though I concur they're douches) because of the driver support.

Came here to say Newegg without knowing about the China thing. Ish. Good luck to you.

Yeah a few years back (2016) they sold about 55% to a Chinese company. Which explains all the options to buy straight from China on their site.

Last time I built a computer was like 2014. Fucking everything is sold to China.

Bezos is a douche but amazon is hard to beat.

newegg for the product technical specs

amazon for the product because their return policy is basically bending over backwards for bitchy customers.

Uggh so you're saying liberal cock sucker over communists. The lesser of two evils.

if you wanna look at it that way, sure.

fuck newegg and their dumb ass return policy and layout they ripped off from amazon. i miss the old layered navigation and filtering they had.

amazon should buy them, bring the people making product images and descriptions over to fix their bullshit, and send the rest of them wherever.

Oh yeah Newegg was great back in the day. Hell I started buying from them back when they were a start up. You're right about the interface, it's gone to hell. Still the point being, I don't want to support the Chinx (more than I have to) and Bezos is a cock gobbling filthy whore. So it's looking I'm damned no matter what.

I'd usually be able to find something good at best buy or micro center If I can't find it online. There is a shortage right now though so most stuff is sold out

You're right but I'm looking to the future. Problem is box stores tend not to be up to date on the latest stuff. So I want to look on line. To bad my choices are communists or cock sucker. Hence my question.

Maybe check out Provantage or Microcenter.
