Covid-19 is a type of coronavirus. Coronavirus has been around forever. It is literally the comon cold. SARS, MERS, and COVID-19 are basically the same thing. The comon cold mutates all the time, thats why it doesn't go away. It usually mutates in humans and infects other humans and humans become immune to that particular mutation. COVID-19 was created/mutated in a lab and had genetic modification to inhance it's infection function. Since no one had this mutation, no one was immune and it spread rapidly. If you catch it and recover you are immune. That is why they are all talking about mutations because that it what it does naturally.
