Then how does it replicate out side of a body, and infect other people? It's not a parasite, it can't grow or reproduce. Not a single example of virus activity exists outside of animation.

Living creatures are covered in cells. Skin cell, blood cells, etc. When those get transferred to another person they get the virus. The virus replicates by infecting others cells. One cells gets it. That cell gives it to other cells. The virus changes the cell. Cells have specific functions and the virus changes their functions. It is like it changes their programming.
