A better method is to rile up the left in such a fashion that it makes them harder and harder for their handlers to control. If you do it correctly you trap their handlers in a vicious cycle: Push moderation and be discredited, thus losing even MORE control, or go along with the crowd to maintain control but consequently encourage the organization becoming more incendiary. Never fight an enemy where you can force an enemy to fight their own supporters and discredit them in the process. Thats what they do to our side. Learn from our enemies.
