Nope I'm just unique that way. I definitely don't max out but I lift pretty hard and I work out every single day. I'll take a day off here and there but it's not uncommon for me to go 15 days straight. I've never done steroids either. I'm also in my early 40s and have noticed no physical degradation whatsoever yet. I feel exactly the same as I did when I was 20 and I'm just as strong. Everybody has different genetics. Physically my Norwegian and German genes have done me well. Of course most people can't do what I do and I would absolutely recommend they don't.
Have a tape handy? Whats your calves?
I think I have a picture of my legs without flexing. Let me look. They're not huge, I have pretty meaty thighs but I'm also 6'2". If I was shorter they would be bigger. My legs are damn strong. One of my Main Hobbies is mountain biking and in addition to lifting I use a stair climber and elliptical almost every single day. I also walk my dog for at least an hour every day. When I was taking MMA I had the hardest front thrust kick they had ever seen.
I just measured they are a hair over 18". I know that's not huge but I do not have any fat on them whatsoever. They're about the exact same size as my bicep which is kind of weird.
18 aint so shabby. Should make 19 your this year goal.
