If you pushed yourself so hard that you aren’t able to recover enough to do the exact same workout after 1 rest day, then you pushed it too hard. If your lifts are stagnating and you want to change things up by going extra hard with an extra day of rest for a bit that’s fine. However, based on the things that I’ve read, that is not the most efficient way to increase strength or size over the long run.
