So, this post i from my side today. I was diagnosed with bullous emphsema, my FEV1/FVC is around 40%, and FEV1 is at around 30%, deecreasing 8% since November. My prognosis is pretty poor, and overall the nurses and doctors have said as much. So realistically, shooting rampage now or later? Beyond that, how do you deal with such a shitty diagnosis?

damn bro sorry tot hear....talking about it and living it are two different things, but i tend to think about stoic principles in harsh situations.

Anything that happens in the world will happen and you might not have a choice but you sure as hell have a choice in how you will react to those things. Strength and honor

You were dead for a very long time before you were alive. Have as much fun as you can and find enjoyment in any way possible.

Sooner or later we all die. Embrace your inevitable death with love in your heart. If you are a believer, pray for comfort for yourself and your loved ones and remember this ride isn't over yet.

Sounds like you may not have much later. Seize the day, and good luck.

There is an afterlife. You'll be fine.

Could you get a lung transplant? If death is inevitable, I'm big supporter of death with dignity. I don't know the laws in your State. If you could get some sleeping pills so you could check out early if you want. I'm not religious so I have no idea what happen after you die. I've gotta believe 'something' happens. Why have life if it all ends in a urn. Who knows. Good luck.

It's a no on transplants. The last thing i want is someone cleaning up after me

As I’ve shared a few times before on this site and as you still have the opportunity to do so, go look into your eyes in the mirror. Just look and tell yourself “I need you”. Do this every day or in your situation as much as you can. Do it with conviction, and do it with all of your being as if you believe it is true. You will start to understand and believe it and one day without warning, the words “I forgive you” may come out. Soon after you may hear the words “I love you” and you can get to the point where this quote from Voltaire makes all the sense in the world.

“The mirror is a worthless invention. The only way to truly see yourself is in the reflection of someone else's eyes.”

If you’ve made that impact on someone, moving on from this life feels a little more easy.

Godspeed

Keep a deadly dose of something, so you're not held in detention.
