A 40x60 with trolley crane, doors all around, car rack and paint booth, attached office, etc. would certainly be a nice upgrade for me. I would have to buy some muscle cars and start drinking Monster to be full Boomer mode. Really wouldn't add to the value of this property though. Someday. Next place. We have a few years to remain here and then we are moving out more remote.
Good instincts. It's definitely better to buy an existing garage than to build one yourself. I'm doing the yuppie area back to rural thing myself right now. SHould have 150k to dump on a house before I need a mortgage.
Ya, we are in a fixer upper here that we bought ten years ago. It's about as fixed up as it can get, and prices here have sky rocketed, so adding more will not yield a good return.
