Yesterday about 4:pm, I got hit HARD with a fever. I've had the flu many times so knew what I was in for.

Walked to the store to get some meds. As I walked it got worse and worse. Very difficult to make it home.

When home, I got severe chills. I drank a bottle of gatorade, took a bunch of Vitamin D, and layed down under 3 blankets. (I opted not to take the meds I bought and just wanted to ride it out.)

By 7pm, I woke up, and it was gone!!! (Not complaining.)

WTF?

food poisoning?

Anything is possible, but I had no stomach issues. Just fever, dizziness and slight shortness of breath. Weird.

Food poisoning?

[–] 1 pt

LOL. Definitely possible. I have an ex-wife.

Fever, never fight the fever With Advil or any fever reducer. The fever is what kills the flu, and sleep and hydration.

This evening I was at an event that was in a barn with lots of those tall propane heaters. At first my head started hurting. Then I began to get nauseous and shaky, my nose began to run.

When we left I felt really bad, worse and worse until I got home, I drank some apple cider vinegar and I began to feel better.

I'm fairly certain that even though I couldn't smell anything, I inhaled a lot of something from those heaters. If I ever go again I'll be sure to wear extra warm clothes and sit near the exit.

Glad you feel better.

Carbon monoxide. The heaters were giving off carbon monoxide. You should mention the problem to the owner of the barn.

[–] 1 pt

Wow. Glad you feel better as well!

Sounds like you got the corona.

My wife and I had exactly the same thing, fever lasted ~24 hours and then fine.

Wasn't sure if it was the 'rona, never got tested, but then when the wife was cooking bacon a few days later I realized I had completely lost my sense of smell. It was bizarre, could breath completely normally but even standing with my face over the bacon pan I couldn't smell a damn thing.

That is weird. I definitely have smell and taste intact.

Did you get your smell back?

[–] 1 pt

Eventually, several months later.

What's funny is that I didn't notice any loss of smell at the time I was actually sick - it was a couple of weeks later. That's when I thought, "Ah, must have been corona." And it wasn't shit overall.

Little bit scary at the time because I was wondering if I was going to end up on a ventilator, but in reality it was a bad 24 hours and then back to normal.

I've had colds that were worse.

It's called an "immune system" and the expected variances between the interactions it has with different types of pathogens.

Germs that hit hard and die off fast are actually not that rare.

The problem today is we are scared of getting sick so much, the immune systems we have are weakened due to not being allowed to fully fight off even the most harmless of infections.

We've lived in sterility so much that we are weak to things that should not threaten us, think about it, the first thing you did when you got sick was reach for the medicine, this is how we've all been for a while now and we think it wouldn't bite us in the ass someday?

Quite right. Comedian George Carlin said this: "Immune systems need practice. Lot's of practice." If you do an Internet search on "George Carlin" and "Germs", you'll find his comedy skit. It's absolutely hilarious, and so true...

Agree, that is why I try to never take any meds unless absolutely necessary. I like to let my body and mind fight it off.

Some flu-like "symptoms" are caused by what you eat: - cramps - feeling hot - fatigue - headaches

Eat local no-pesticides (or low) foods from your farmer market, prepare and cook your meals, try to not eat anything processed (except flour maybe).

True. I pretty much eat like that. I am a health nut.

Then, it's possible your strong immune system killed the invader fast.

[–] 0 pt

That is was I hope. I eat really well and take a shit load of well-researched vitamins and suppliments for just such an occasion. It would be nice to know my efforts paid off.

Stop complaining about your monthly cycle. That's not what he is talking about. :)

Wait until the next night. If you feel bad, you are still sick and probably covid. That's how it was for me, no symptoms during the day, only when waking up in the morning.

[–] 0 pt

Interesting. It has been over 24 hours and still no relapse. Maybe I got lucky.

[–] 0 pt

I've had overnight flu. Probably 8-12 hours. Never 3 though.

If you feel it coming on and catch it early with the right stuff, sometimes it knocks it out.

Glad you are feeling better.

Only once, lasted the weekend, december 2019, played out just like yours. Was sitting at my computer feeling fine, felt a little throat tickle, thought nothing of it, then about 15 min later my throat was killing me and I had a full on fever. By the end of the weekend I was fine, have never experienced anything like it. I live near a major international city so its entirely possible i was in contact with an early corona strain.

I had a cold that I couldn’t shake for a week.

Turns out it was COVID. I’m even immunosuppressed and it wasn’t that big a deal. I know everyone’s body is different, but it didn’t seem worth destroying the world’s economy over.

[–] 0 pt

turns out it was (all caps) covid

No. jewflu doesn't exist.

No isolate.

No virus.

blue account

all caps covid which I have ONLY seen shill accounts and propaganda outlets do

[–] 0 pt

Are you seriously suggesting I’m a shill?

Get fucked, commie. You’re just trying to squelch the rest of my comment to make it look like COVID (I give zero shits what you think of my capitalization) IS worth destroying a economy over, and if you think that’s the case, you are cordially invited to eat ALL (more capitalization) of my asshole.

The literal only 3 accounts I have ever seen use that word on poal are banned due to kike behavior. Also I'm not an admin or mod of this sub so no nigger, I can't squelch any part of your or other user's posts.
