Are you saying there are too many or not enough?
I'd blocked too many and needed to free space up as the limit is only 20.
I stopped using the limited on-site blocking and switched to utilizing uBlock's My Filters custom rules and matching user names on posts/comments to hide their posts. I have 60 blocked currently by this method.
Doing it this way will completely hide the user's post like when they are blocked, but also completely hide their comments instead of only collapsing them.
Still some bugs in how I have it working and I might change it to only hiding the contents of their comment instead of the whole comment (and thus all replies to their comment).
It does take some extra seconds to duplicate a blocked user on uBlock's My Filters tab and then copy and paste the new user's name into it, but it is worth the few seconds and effort for me.
If you want to try this route for blocking:
This will block a user's submission in the post listings if the link to the poster matches:
poal.co##.alldaposts > .post:has(a[href=""])
This will block their submission from listing even if it is made into an 'announcement' post, which normally will show even if you have the author blocked via the on-site block function as announcement posts override the blocked user list to force it to be displayed:
poal.co##div#announcement-post > .post:has(a[href=""])
This will completely hide the user's comment in a thread and all replies to that comment (some minor display issues with this at times, but it works):
poal.co##.comments-block > .comment :has(a[href=""])
Just change the USERNAMETOBLOCK in each one to the username of the one you want to block.
It is only a visual blocking, so blocked people can still message you and if they reply to one of your posts/comments you'll still get their comment notification. I haven't gone into blocking message notifications from 'blocked' users via uBlock yet as it hasn't really been an issue for me yet.
Thank you!
I don't understand why people block users. Only a fragile snowflake of a liberal is afraid of hearing opinions that differ from his own. I've never blocked anybody in my time on Reddit, Voat, and now Poal, and never will. On the other hand, I don't bother to read my mail. Maybe if someone reads his mail, other people might be able to "get" to him. I don't know. I don't block. And I don't read mail.
