Uhm, does no one realize this already happened under Clinton. The ONLY reason it failed was due to some bullshit export law and the banks weren't having it. However, one would need to also ban math, binary operations, shifting, hashing, and a whole to of non encryption computing in the process.

History for most people only starts when they begin to pay attention.

pretty much already is useless, if the government wants to spy on you they can, they have backdoors and advanced shit we dont know about

your device is a point of failure, encryption is easily breakable if you have access to quantum computers, and that is assuming you are not on a platform that is compromised which is unlikely, all countries will play the same game with tech companies and they will have access if they want it, governments like to keep up the pretence that encryption is a issue so people talk on compromised coms

the whole internet is a honey pot, so dont give in to hatred and angre, instead fight the ideolical war and wake people up to what is really going on, we dont need to do anything illegal for that

Post quantum cryptography is an active field in Computer Science. People are developing encryption schemes that can resist quantum computers.

yeah but none of your stuff is on them and quantum computers are here now, they are multiple steps ahead on tech

NO law can make encryption USELESS. Dumbass. Try passing a law making math EZPZ. See? You know, cause niggers. Math is racist. Truth is racist. Niggers STILL SUCK.

If they pass such a bill, it will become even more useful.

they can ban it all they want

it won't go away

I think they'll entertain the idea until the alphabet agencies get backdoors (Apple Messages aren't encrypted on their servers, for instance).

Encryption won't be useless, it will be illegal for some encryption to be used.

But encrypted communication will still occur, or plain text man in the middle attacks will be a significant problem.

The internet is built on encryption, without it any fucktard would be able to steal all kinds of personal info.

The government will just have root keys to decrypt and re-encrypt all traffic as it passes.
