So I’m new to using a vpn. I’m trying it on my iPhone. X vpn is the one I’m using. When I turn it on the top right says vpn for a few seconds then goes back to showing bars and speed. So when it’s on nothing can be tracked huh? If I stream or download. I’m good then right. It seems to simple. I’m just getting it for this weekend really. Dana white making threats against streamers lol. I’m scared. Iv been hit by one of those warnings before for something else. Threatening a law suit. That was for downloads a little different but I wanna be safe anyways. Is there something I should know. I was gonna post this to whatever but apparently I can’t

The one thing about a VPN that you have to accept is that you are trusting your provider with your data security. I use Proton VPN in the knowledge that they could one day roll over and expose my email and Internet traffic.

I have no experience with X VPN so I can't help with your question. I just wanted to state the obvious in a rational way before others came in and trashed you for it.

Are they free. I only want it for this weekend unless people I know start getting sued I’m not gonna bother probbaly. One of the websites I use asks to turn on a vpn before you use it

How do you like proton vpn? I haven’t pulled the trigger, but I think this will be my choice. Are you using on your phone as well? Thanks!

I use it on my laptop, tablet, and phone and am very happy with it.

there are various ways that data can leak, such as DNS look-ups, but browsers can leak data also

i've never heard of 'x vpn' - if it's a "free" service, dump it - never trust a "free" provider - might want to check out

It had an option for 12 bucks a month but they have a free version with ads. That’s what I’m using right now

I'm doing something similar with the NHL but not on my phone. I have my whole subnet on a VPN firewalled with pfSense so for me its worth it to pay.

It’s not like I’m out killing children and shit. I just wanna stream a sport event. I don’t think anyone cares. Couple that with the fact there’s gonna be millions of people around the world doing the same shit at the same time. They can’t catch us all. The time I got threatened with the lawsuit I was using piratebay for music. Basically they only noticed cause my downloads aka the data got so high it was like a big red flag to them. I changed my settings to a bunch of different stuff and kept doing it without a problem.

Honestly I’m more worried he’s gonna shut down the websites I use. Iv got a short list but I’m pretty sure two of them are the same guy. Based on the fact that they both have English commercials. Of course those are the ones I’m using the most. I know a bunch of people who use the same sites so they’ll be watching too. See if they get hit with anything. I just watched the presser with the two main events and he said we got a guy in mind and said so stream it we dare you. lol.

Better use a vpn and tor browser together. Smartphones are tracking devices I wouldn't trust them to do anything where you have the need to be safe.

Doesn’t tor only connect you to onion sites. The place I need isn’t on the deepweb

Tor connects with almost everything.
