I think it depends where you're getting them from. It's really hard to know what is true and false with anything, anymore, that's why I shared my experience. I no longer go based off what is suggested, I read what other people's experiences have been, and if I decide to try it I do my own trial with and without repeatedly to make sure it's something I need. I started with krill and cod liver oil, and gradually started making sure I consumed some form of seeds and nuts daily instead. If you're seriously deficient the big initial dose helps a lot while you figure out how to correct your diet for your problems.
Thinking for yourself and making your own decisions is perfect. Don’t listen to any propaganda. I just wanna say seeds and nuts are actually deleterious to your health. Nuts might be okay if prepared correctly, but seeds are not human food
