I think it's crazy that "the most popular candidate in history" is shutting down the National Mall for his inauguration. The past two presidents have had open death threats against them walking in to their inaugurations; this is unprecedented. I can't see how anyone else can't see this as the definite end of the illusion of the US. I'll grant that the US has been gone a while, but this is lifting the veil.
