I was a vegan for a number of years. As with all religious convictions, it’s a process, and a stated intention, more than some static mode of being. “Perfect” veganism is understood to be an unattainable ideal, that one strives for nonetheless.

But why? It takes way more resources to give you enough random food from all over the world, just to be able to function, that you could get just munching on a rabbit.
We also don't have the teeth, or intestinal length to be herbivores long term. We are not built for it.

I can’t speak for other people, but I was legitimately disgusted by the mistreatment of animals in factory farms, and boycotted that whole industry as best I was able.
