Why do you even want to have a tv in your home?

I mean, you have a PC, right? So why the tv? What for?

I have not had cable since 2012 with no regrets. I stream what I care to watch via my Roku. Selected bits from YouTube, Amazon prime, and until recently Netflix (cancelled). I have a Plex media server which contains collected and curated content. No one in the family complains or misses anything.

In all honesty, the only thing we do not get are sports and the local news broadcast. We do not care about sports and we can get selected stories of interest off the local news website.

You do not need cable.

Why do that to yourself? Don't give them access to your brain like that. I don't watch TV anymore. Every so often I will look to see if anything has changed. So far it only changes for the worse. It will be difficult at first because your brain is used to the stimulus. Something that helps is music. Not the pop garbage either. It's just as bad as TV.

It is no joke that what we see, hear, say and do impacts our brain. You get to pick if your brain will help or hurt you. Again, it is not easy. Like exercising. But it gets much better after a few weeks and worth it.

I recommend people get the raspberry pi. You can basically turn your tv into a computer and watch whatever you want for free.
