Dupes, right? I keep seeing this idea that some newly awakened normy horde is gonna change anything.

So I'm trying to imagine a scenario in which they have any value to contribute.

Whether it is real or not, a system only functions with worker bees willing to play the game. Lets say worst case scenario of it being "real habbening" and the Military is actually taking over but they keep power and they run the show after financial reset, perhaps they want "their base" to be happy with them? The base that actually provides positive feedback into the system and does not cause so much rape and murder.

Robots will never replace enough to matter that way until they are capable of replacing EVERYTHING. So even if that were the case then the people at the top would pick the population that would be capable of advancing towards that goal and maintaining it.
