Easy enough request. I'm not versed in good leather boots but need a pair.

Situation:

SHTF. I would like boots that could: stay warm during winter months in the north + water proof + ice resistant + leather is an absolute must.

is suggesting Hiking Boots which seems better.

No, there are plenty of good brands out there.

Just go for something expensive, and with a pretty high top.

If SHTF, you really only have one chance to buy them, so don't jew yourself.

high top

Above the ankles, low calf or higher?

Depends on where you plan to go.

It it rainy, or really snowy, or are you going to have to wade through streams?

the higher the better

Or are you going through the hot/arid environments, where your are going to be sweating, and blisters would be more of a worry?

the lower the better

Okay good to know. Thanks for the input!

The price is the thing that's shocking me though. $200 - $400. I've never spent even $100 on clothing for my feet.
