Making a decision on my first rifle and have it narrowed down to these 2.

I'm leaning toward the Rugar but I really like the reliability Springfield is known for.

Yes I know good luck finding them but when I do I am buying it.

I would like to mention that I am a beginner but not a novice when it comes to firearms. I have shot plenty of times and have been trained in gun safety, but never owned my own.

Thanks for anyone taking the time to answer.

Neither, get an AR15 so you have an adaptable platform that can be adjusted to the needs of a situation via lights, lasers, grips, magnifiers, etc

Budget AR-15s are not terribly expensive, and if there's ever a true SHTF scenario you'll want to be using 5.56 like everyone else.
