I'm not an economist, but my understanding is that stocks and commodities have an inverse relationship. Market down, gold up etc. WTF? All of this during a chaotic presidential election too.

Edit: I know it's rigged, i get it. I've never seen this though.

Inflation. The value is the us dollar is tanking so therefore everything you can buy with us dollar now costs more of them

I didn't really consider the inflation angle. Even still the numbers would get larger but the inverse relationship between stocks and commodities would still be evident somewhat at least.
