Would it be within bounds to hire between the following 2 job-candidates, basing my judgement solely on health efficiency?

  1. 6 foot, 210, @ 12.1% body fat

  2. 6 foot, 395, @ 45% body fat

I decide to hire candidate 1 seeing that their chances of becoming symptomatic with WuFlu are extremely low. This candidate would also call out sick less, use less sick time, and have lower medical-costs associated with company-supplied health, dental, and eye insurance...life insurance is cheap so I leave this one up to the individual.

What if their spouse carried the health insurance?

They'd still have the option at any point after being hired to obtain health insurance with the company, so no. The spouse holding health insurance for them wouldn't be a viable reason to ignore their underlying-ailments.

Are they both White? The thinner one is still fat. Only hire fit, straight, White men.
