I keep hearing people say invest your money in something that maintains value like bullets.

Is this good advice? Should I be putting all my money in bullets? Are their other options? I want to turn my fiat currency into something valuable.

Bullets don't really maintain value.

Invest in relationships. Particularly with local people who have something to offer. Your Sheriff, relatives, neighbors, city council, local farmers, etc. Spend your time and money making sure these people know they can count on you and that you care what happens to you. When the unforseen happens it will be these people who decide to help you or not. Explaining why there's a dead antifa in your kitchen to Officer Bob who was at your 4th of july party is very different from explaining it to officer #374.
