I keep hearing people say invest your money in something that maintains value like bullets.

Is this good advice? Should I be putting all my money in bullets? Are their other options? I want to turn my fiat currency into something valuable.

Ammunition would probably be good barter currency in SHTF I imagine, booze would likely be as well

I accidentally drink all my booze investments.

You could catch a fair deal bartering bullets, but you could also catch a few of those bullets you bartered.

Orange juice futures. Just make sure you get the crop report from Beeks first.

“..and pork bellies, from which bacon is made, like on a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich.” Eddie Murphy breaking the fourth wall at that is comedy gold.

I invest in .45, because they don’t make .46

But they do make .500 Win mags =)

Haha. The ..46 comment was Bill Cooper, right? Anyhow, gave it a search and turns out there’s a huge .46 round/ revolver.

From what I hear, no one under the age of 65 is legally allowed to buy .45. ;-P

Nah, I say entire cartridges are worth more than just bullets.

But bullets are still a pretty solid investment. Even the hollowpoint ones. Perhaps especially the hollowpoint ones!

I am heavily invested in primers as well. Just don't drop em!

Smart!

I for serious wish I had gotten into reloading back when that was still possible. It was always a thing i wanted to do with that next bonus or over that next holiday or whatever. Drat.

I wish I got into pistol reloading. Every reloader told me pistol isn't worth it...obviously not the case anymore. 9mm and 5.56 are the same price now lol. But I like shooting rifle more anyway.

Those are hard to get, I bought as many as I could when I found some in stock.

Shells however you can collect for free at ranges and toss them in tumbler to clean a bit then deprime and polish them up for sale. That's working quite well thus far.

A little dish soap and steel mixing media.

I just shoot em with a brass catcher and reload. Selling is a pretty good idea because fully processing 5.56 brass is a major chore. Removing primer crimps, trimming to size (because they stretch when fired) and deburring. Then you can start reloading.

Bullets don't really maintain value.

Invest in relationships. Particularly with local people who have something to offer. Your Sheriff, relatives, neighbors, city council, local farmers, etc. Spend your time and money making sure these people know they can count on you and that you care what happens to you. When the unforseen happens it will be these people who decide to help you or not. Explaining why there's a dead antifa in your kitchen to Officer Bob who was at your 4th of july party is very different from explaining it to officer #374.

I have $2,000 in ammo that is now worth $7,000, and Tesla stock LOL.

That little?

I guess it's better than nothing. Barely.

Not counting my reloading supplies, NEWB

[–] 0 pt

LOL!

Well that don't count, it's not ammo yet!

Alt coins in the crypto currency markets. Short term gains are imminent in many of them. Longer term holdings in coins that have a solid use case. Crypto is going to make a whole bunch of people wealthy. The smart ones great Gatsby money

Crypto is going to make a whole bunch of people wealthy.

Only those who are patient and intelligent. Many crypto investors will see it moon and unload when they have enough where it makes an impact on their life if they need the money. Ultimately they should hold long term 10-15 years out to truly profit.

I don't know it's investing at this point, more panic-buying. I can't see how the prices go down or the supply comes back to normal in the foreseeable future though. Right now you can still get hunting rounds and if you are lucky some 50 cent a round 556. Depending on the next month I wouldn't be surprised to see even hunting rounds clear the shelves.

I was on a road trip and found only random hunting and .12g rounds. Buying now is not a real good option unless you want to keep in practice.

Prices may continue to go up, but people's money supply is draining, and so to their bartering power.

Storable food is a good supply to barter with, I grabbed a few year supply of the emergency foods while it was more affordable and am glad I did. Very good bartering stock.

Not at current prices. Maybe bullet making supplies is better

Bitbullets are about to moon.
