I recommend 7.62x51 zeroed to 500 yards. Alternatively, you might consider modifying a drone to fire downward facing claymore mines... in minecraft.
.308 is actually slightly more powerfull than 7.62 NATO. It's kinda the opposite of .223 vs 5.56
I'm partial to 6.5grendel myself.
A man after my own heart! I love 6.5g, great ballistics well past 1000yds, low recoil, and 6.5 has supposedly great wound cavitation and is legal for hunting in my state. Also fits in the AR-15 platform which makes it a lighter gun overall.
Similar story to why I assembuilt mine.
Side note: 6.5gren is one of the only things my local gun store can keep a few boxes in stock. Having a less common caliber turns out to have advantages.
7.62 NATO
