Taking off, gaining altitude, then diving down and entering an obvious computer controlled surveillance pattern = Some dumb plane trying to land and coming back fer nother pass

Just the plane type alone should tell you it's probably a surveillance plane.

Took off and proceeded to fly a computer controlled path back and forth past a target area "Waiting pattern"

That is surveillance. I am just wondering if this plane out and about is normal or if this is something unusual.
