Got hooked on spades in county, graduated to pinochle, but disliked skill with lack of variety in gameplay though bidding according to spread is cool. Finally tackling bridge, which is fucking sweet, but logistics of scoring I'm still trying to get, but I'm only a day in.

Gin rummy is a great 2 people game. I used to beat the shit out of my wife playing it until I told her my secret, now she beats the shit out of me. If you have 4 people, eucher is a fun game. Fast hands easy play. Kinda like Rook, but faster.

Love rummy, not sure if there's a difference with gin

I think what sets it apart is the bidding.

If you have a partner that knows how to bid, you can tear it up. It's great when they lay down their hand and there's the other three cards you were needing.

This is very important. Your partner needs to give you clues as to what his cards are like while also bidding on how many you'll win. I love it.
