Got hooked on spades in county, graduated to pinochle, but disliked skill with lack of variety in gameplay though bidding according to spread is cool. Finally tackling bridge, which is fucking sweet, but logistics of scoring I'm still trying to get, but I'm only a day in.

I'd say start with spades, for learning trick playing. Still love it.
