Elon Musk engineers are working on hypersonic planes (flying at a much higher altitude)
I used to think it was the coolest (and cutest) machine ever. I still think like this in a manner, but adulthood brings some sense of reality. That thing was too much complicated. They made a genius move with the wings, using the attack angle to allow cutting the air when supersonic and creating enough lift when subsonic. But the droop nose is weird, and the need to move fuel here and there to allow the balance needed to fly, idk. Add little space to both passengers and luggage, high consumption, high noise levels and expensive maintenance. I think it's too much for a civil airplane.
Maybe nowadays, with supercruise engines and new materials, something could replace it.
They devised a new wing type that negates the sonic boom.
