they went from the station wagon to mini van. they grew out of the dreaded soccer mom van into the Jeep Cherokee for the soccer mom thing. They also started going into bigger vehicles with the mindset that bigger = "safe"
Then you have midlife crisis mom that gets the jeep wrangler or younger girls get it for "muddin" even though they never go after that first part breaks due to doing something dumb.

I see more women driving bmws, mercedes, audi too. All the men drive either trucks or beat up toyota's, want nothing to do with that unreliable crap.

As a women, I'll confess that I hate SUVs and Jeeps. They are too much vehicle for me to handle. On top of that, I suck at driving in general (not even kidding a little bit, which is why I avoid highways, nighttime driving, and driving in bad weather). Also, I don't really want to spend that much on a vehicle I have an increased chance of damaging. I've had a modest two door sedan that gets me where I need to go. It might be nothing to look at, but I enjoy not having to worry about minor dings, scratches, or an obnoxious loan payment.
